Before your wedding you will need to provide, your original birth certificate (or certified copies).

If born overseas and hold a current overseas passport that is acceptable.

If you have been married before then you will need to provide the necessary documents to support a Decree Absolute or Death Certificate.

The notice of your intended marriage is legally required to be filled out and lodged one month and one day before your wedding day, and no sooner than eighteen months.

In some circumstances you can apply and be granted by a local magistrate a shortening of that time.

Legal requirements are that you be aged 18 years or over and that you must be single, and not closely related to each other.
